Trans Pride London 2026
Feminist Fightback was honoured to march in this year’s Trans Pride London, alongside around 150,000 other attendees.
A small group of members marched not only to stand in solidarity with our trans siblings, but to be visible and vocal in countering the framing that trans rights are in opposition to women’s rights.
The atmosphere on the day was electric and defiant. Despite the heat, thousands of people turned out to show their allyship with the trans community and stand up to the increasingly regressive attitudes towards trans people that have taken root in British politics and media.
The theme for this year’s march was ‘Our Future, Our Fight’, a rallying cry reminding the public that trans people will always be part of our collective future, no matter how much people try to erase them from public life.
As feminists, we dare to dream about a future in which everyone is liberated from gender-based oppression, and we fight to make that a reality.
As a collective, our feminism seeks the liberation of all people marginalised by their gender, including trans women, trans men, and non-binary people.
The forces that seek to restrict the rights of trans people to access gender-affirming healthcare are the same as those who seek to limit cis women’s access to abortion and health care. Those same forces that paint trans people as predators use the same rhetoric to vilify asylum seekers.
This week, the EHRC’s draconian guidance comes into effect, essentially banning trans people from using public and shared toilets that match their gender identity. This will force trans people out in their workplace (both metaphorically and literally), and puts trans people in danger of assault or attack when trying to use public bathrooms.
This guidance will also lead to the policing of all women’s gender expression, particularly butch and gender non-conforming women, women of colour, and disabled women.
We know that any attacks on trans women are an attack on all women. But, we don’t stand with trans women just because their oppression also impacts cis women. We fight for trans women because they are women. All women deserve bodily freedom and autonomy.
We will continue to organise, fight, and march alongside our trans siblings.
