SUMMARY:April Organising Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join Feminist Fightback for our monthly organising meeting. We’re an anti-capitalist feminist collective and we usually meet the third Sunday of every month\, 3.30pm-6.00pm. For April\, however\, to work around the Easter holiday\, we are meeting the second Sunday of the month. For the first hour\, we have a political discussion\, with the second part of the meeting for organising actions and events. Meetings are open to all women\, including trans women and people of diverse gender identities in need of feminist solidarity (our wider activities are open to people of all genders). \nThis month’s political discussion is: tbc \nLocation: Golden Lane Community Centre\, Fann Street\, London EC1Y 0SA \nNote: If you haven’t been to one of our organising meeting before and want to attend please email us so we can expect you. SUMMARY:Feminist Grassroots Organising: Building Local and International Capacity and Solidarity
DESCRIPTION:Hard-right populism\, here and abroad\, is on the rise – alongside attacks against migrants\, the LGBTQ+ community (especially our trans siblings)\, the disabled and vulnerable\, and the working class. In this climate\, it is increasingy important that we build networks of mutual support and practical strategies for change. \nOn 27 April\, we will be coming together to discuss sustainable\, long-lasting organising and share experiences of what strategies we can and have used to successfully fight imperial\, patriarchal and fascist capitalism locally and globally. \nWe will hear from a range of speakers\, followed by a practical workshop. \nCome along if you are an experienced organiser who wants to learn from others\, or if you are new to organising and want to know where to start! \nRegister here: https://feministgrassrootsorg.eventbrite.co.uk \nSpeakers will include: \nDr Sara Ibrahim Abdelgalil — Sudan’s Doctors for Human Rights \nLondon for Sudan \nCongolese Action Youth Platform \nThe Love Tank \nMore speakers to follow… \nOur aim is to facilitate an open platform where the range and diversity of opinion amongst speakers are supported in the spirit of coalition building to oppose the right. \nContent warning: genocide\, sexual violence (including rape and gang rape)\, violence\, war\, war crimes. \nAccess: \nWe will be serving a vegetarian\, nut-free meal. There will also be tea\, coffee\, and snacks.
