DESCRIPTION:Join Feminist Fightback for our next reading group book: Revolting Prostitutes: The Fight for Sex Workers’ Rights Sex Workers by Juno Mac and Molly Smith  \nJuno Mac and Molly Smith bring a fresh perspective to questions that have long been contentious. Speaking from a growing global sex worker rights movement\, and situating their argument firmly within wider questions of migration\, work\, feminism\, and resistance to white supremacy\, they make it clear that anyone committed to working towards justice and freedom should be in support of the sex worker rights movement. \nThe book is 288 pages long. We will discuss this book in 4 sessions: \nMonday 9th February (56 pages): \n\nIntroduction\nChapter 1: Sex\nChapter 2: Work\n\nMonday 9th March (59 pages): \n\nChapter 3: Borders\nChapter 4: A Victorian Hangover: Great Britain\n\nMonday 13th April (61 pages) \n\nChapter 5: Prison Nation: The U.S.\, South Africa\, and Kenya\nChapter 6: The People’s Home: Sweden\, Norway\, Ireland\, and Canada\n\nMonday 11th May (44 pages) \n\nChapter 7: Charmed Circle: Germany\, Netherlands\, and Nevada\nChapter 8: No Silver Cullet Aotearoa (New Zealand) and New South Wales\nConclusion\n\nPlease come having read the relevant chapters. Copies available at The People’s Letters (E2 9RA)\, a sex worker supportive bookstore. \nThe event will be at Vibast Community Centre\, 267 Old Street\, London EC1V 9NH. It is about 3 minutes walking from Old Street station\, or the 55 and 243 buses stop just in front of the Centre. The venue is accessible and has accessible toilets. \nPlease arrive at 7.00 for 7.15 start; we will finish at 8.30pm. All genders welcome!

SUMMARY:Feminist Fightback Filmclub in collaboration with Decrim Now presents: Princesas (2005)
DESCRIPTION:Join us this May for a joint film screening with Decrim Now! We will be screening Princesas (english title Princesses) a 2005 film (1h49min) by Fernando Leon de Aranoa. Its a story about friendship in the world of prostitution\, showcasing issues around sex work\, migration and xenophobia. \nExhibiting anger/ joy during the film at oppressive behaviour/ high points of struggle very much encouraged. \nDrinks and snacks will be available. \nSuggested donations on the door £2/5/10 unwaged/waged/solidarity. \nAll genders welcome. \nDoors open at 7pm. \nACCESS:  \nACCESS: \nThe film showing will take place in the common room of the Pelican House. The common room is on the second floor of the main building. There is ramp access to the main building and lift access to the second floor. The toilets are on the same same level and include an accessible toilet. \nClosest stations Bethnal Green tube station and Bethnal Green overground station. \nClosest bus stops Cephas Street and Three Colts Lane for the 106 and 254 buses.
