Virginie Despentes’ 2009 documentary, Mutantes (Punk Porn Feminism), provides a context for the Post Porn movement (Punk Porn Feminism) which seeks to re-frame pornography as a creative activity that constructs and deconstructs ideas of gender, power, politics and equality. The documentary aims to provide answers to the understanding of porn from the perspective of pro-sex feminism that asserts that pornography – if wrested from patriarchal control – can become a tool of liberation. Despentes fills this film with interviews and examples of work of members of the post-porn movement such as B. Ruby Rich, Lydia Lunch, Annie Sprinkle, Catherine Breillat, Maria Beatty, Lynnee Breedlove, Norma Jean Almodovar.
